Oldest cheese store in Wisconsin! Home to the legendary LIMBUGER cheese sandwich. Famously fragrant, served with mustard and onion on dark rye. Andes Candies mint on the side. Original owner Emil Baumgartner was running a cheese making supply store and began offering customers a cheese sandwich and a beer. Today's menu offers a variety of cold or toasted sandwiches, chili, and smash burgers. Two dozen beers on tap!
Delicious deep-fried cheese curds - factory-direct! Made with fresh curds from Silver Lewis Cooperative in Monticello, and hand battered in Junction's homemade beer batter. Try the award-winning Green County Beef Producer’s “Best Burger” contest winner – the Aloha Junction Burger. Or The Cheesemaker Burger, topped with your choice of local Swiss, Cheddar, or Pepperjack.
The Blumenladen in New Glarus offers a nice collection of cheese tools and accessories, including knives, slicers, and cheese graters. Buggyworks sources local products, tapping into the rich history of south-central Wisconsin and the unique people who call it home. Try the Fitzgibbons Salad, which features Odyssey Feta from Klondike Cheese in Monroe, or Wisconsin Mac & Cheese with a trio of local favorites: Deppeler Baby Swiss, Roth Kase Grand Cru, and Maple Leaf Cheddar. Look for Jeff at the Cheese Days festival, he and the Buggyworks team will be slinging their famous mac and cheese!

Got Limburger? Chalet Cheese sure does, and they’ve been crafting world class cheese right at this location since 1885. While visiting the only factory producing Limburger in the US, you can heat things up with Pepper Havarti! Chalet is known for crafting national and world championship cheeses such as Baby Swiss, Swiss, Havarti, Cheddar, and Brick - including aged and smoked varieties. Factory favorite (besides Baby Swiss and Limburger) is Alpenaro – a masterful blend of Gouda and Parmesan.
Grilled cheese made to order? Yes please! Also fresh curds and award-winning cheese from Chalet Cheese Cooperative along with other local Wisconsin artisan foodie favorites, like mustards, coffees, sweet treats, and wine. You'll definitely want to try these two Chalet Cheese originals: Le'Bec - a mild, buttery creamy cheese with hints of natural smoke; and Pannaro - a flavorful fusion of Gouda and Parmesan.
Fondue - the official dish of Switzerland! It's a natural fit in New Glarus, an original Swiss settlement dating back to 1845. Chef Mike Nevil trained in Switzerland to perfect his culinary skills, and you'll taste this attention to detail. The menu features a variety of Swiss spezialtäten (specialties) with comfort foods like Rösti and Spätzli. Try the Landhaus Soup - topped with, you guessed it: Swiss cheese. Stay awhile: Chalet Landhaus Inn will welcome you with authentic Swiss hospitality.

Grilled cheese made to order. Heat things up with a Hot Pepper Brick grilled sandwich with secret sauce! This busy cheese store stocks award winners crafted by WI Master Cheesemaker Steve Stettler. He holds the title for Best Curds in the World. Seriously! Decatur’s fresh curds took top honors at the 2022 AND 2024 World Champion Cheese Contests. In the cheese case: classics like Muenster, Havarti, Brick, Farmers, Colby, Butterkase, and Master Steve’s very own Stettler Swiss.
It's easy to be cheesy at Eagle Pass Saloon! They'll top your burger or hot ham sandwich with Cheddar, Swiss or Pepperjack. Fun cheesy stuff on the menu: Bud's deep fried cheese curds (made locally), mac + cheese wedges, broccoli cheese poppers, cheese fries, cowboy corn poppers. Also tacos on Monday.
Walk through Alp & Dell Cheese Store to enter the cheese factory Observation Hall, where you can see cheese being made (weekday mornings) and you'll find the passport QR code for Emmi Roth. They recently claimed the prestigious 2025 WI State Fair Grand Master Cheesemaker title with a wheel of their Roth Cheese Original Grand Cru. Emmi is known for crafstmanship and quality in producing domestic alpine-style cheeses. The adjacent Alp & Dell Cheese Store offers an impressive selection of Gouda, Cheddar, Havarti, Blue, Fontina, and so many more. You’ll also find imported specialties from the Swiss-made Emmi brand.
The Fat Badger Pub at Monroe Golf Club is home to the Flavors you Crave! Every one of our mouthwatering burgers feature Alp & Dell Cheeses. You can find cheese in many other dishes at the Pub, including our Ultimate Quesadilla which is loaded with melty cheddar, our house-made beer cheese dip served with the Giant Pretzel, and the Trash Can Nachos which are absolutely smothered in a creamy Corn Queso. Stop in for good times, great food, every time!

Main Street Monroe will be dropping a block of Limburger cheese at 5pm with the help of the Monroe Fire Department. (5 PM central is midnight in Switzerland!) CHECK IN at this event (from 3 - 6 PM) with a QR code you'll find at the Hospitality Tent. The event also includes fire pits, Alphorn entertainment, singers, cheese samples, a Brown Swiss Cow thanks to Wegmueller Farm, and crafts. Also Blumer's root beer, a beer garden, hot chocolate from Junior Optimists. Event is being brought to you by Cactus Co Booze N' Bites and Bartel's & Co Tap, Hospitality Tent by Kirt and JoAnne Leuenberger, with support from Chalet Cheese Co-op, Minhas Brewery, Baumgartner Cheese Store, with special thanks to Janice Douglas and Tom Witt at Monroe High School.

Roy's carries cheese from Hooks, including curds - delivered fresh on Fridays.
